Meet our Elk!
Elk shed their antlers in early spring, but regrow them quickly every year. Male elk are known for their distinctive bugle call, a loud, resonant sound used to attract mates and warn rivals. They typically live in herds, although males may separate during certain times of the year.
Elk are primarily grazers, feeding on grasses, leaves, and other vegetation. Also known as “wapiti,” which is derived from a Shawnee and Cree word meaning “white rump.”
